Step 4: Get active

• Write a letter of objection: A detailed and unemotional analysis of each aspect of the plans and the specific objection and specific UDP citation as well as any supportive documents and images should be developed to explain the case and your position properly. See Templates
• Contact your local councillors who are usually familiar with the way things work and can provide advice and sometimes support. See Links & contacts
• Meet with the councillors or the assigned planner to illuminate several issues and to investigate the area further. See Links & contacts
• Gather concerned residents, neighbours and friends to meet and discuss
• Contact any national or local organisation which might have an interest. See Links & contacts
• Organise a letter writing campaign and petitions. See Templates
• Contact local newspapers, magazines and media. See Links & contacts
• Produce a newsletter and email list. See Templates
• Find out the talents within your group and exploit them as effectviely as possible
